It's been forever since this blog has been updated and for that, my apologies... It's high time to pick it up and share what is happening in the greenbeanbaby world....because it's been full of good news!
While I am available for commissions and custom work, some of my artwork can be purchased for licensing through Imagezoo... And with this option, I am happy to say that Australia used several of these images in their "Save the date to vaccinate" campaign...
And with one of my images, they created a youtube video for the campaign:
Pretty neat, eh?!
In other news, I will have my site up and running by mid-September... It's been down for a LONG time [we are speaking of months here]... And while my flickr and instagram are currently updated, my portfolio sites and blog have been sorely neglected... Don't fret though, this will change as the school year hits and I get back in the groove of multi-social networking!
It's been awhile since I've actually blogged but I thought to post a couple of recipes for Pinterest sake :) If you see my flickr or my personal facebook, you'll know i've been baking like crazy lately [yes, aside from even creating art]
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened 1 cup sugar 2 tsp pure vanilla extract 2 large egg white 1 tsp salt 3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 large egg white Sanding or Turbinado sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and beat on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg whites. Reduce the speed to low. Add salt and flour; mix until combined.
3. Roll the dough into ¾-inch balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch rope tapering the ends slightly. Lift one end and cross it over to the opposite side to form half of the pretzel shape. Cross the other end to form the second half of the pretzel shape. Space the cookies 1 inch apart on the baking sheet.
4. Using a pastry brush, lightly coat cookies with egg white and sprinkle with sanding or turbinado sugar.
5. Bake until the cookies just start turning golden, about 15 minutes. Cool on the baking sheet on a cooling rack.
It's February already and the time has flown faster than a goose being chased by a four year old... The winter is mild, the coffee is brewing, and life itself seems to be as "adventurous as always"... It's filled with ups and downs, uncertainties, laughters, and tears- all in a week... HAHAHA noooooo! But some days it feels that way, right!?
To be semi-brief, I'll post a list of things that have been going on over the last few months... Photos and links will be included as my flickr page has not been neglected!!!
1. Isabella turns 5 in April and we are both headed to NYC to celebrate, visit friends, and buy toys!
3. Been baking a lot!! Yes, making cakes and cookies and meringues and cream puffs... Isabella has a blast helping and I was hoping to make a chocolate cake today but we might wait until Friday... you can see some of the goodies here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/greenbeanbaby/sets/72157612526536337/
4. For local Milwaukee peeps, you can see three of my illustrations at MOCT 240 E. Pittsburgh Ave... Many more talented artists are showcasing there until the 23rd of February!
5. I have two new illustrations- called THE TWINS... They were for a gallery showing but now they are in need of a home or at least a coffee shop to be hung in...
6. I am still collecting toys... Not news but also, worth mentioning!
7. Diego is also collecting toys... One day he is into transformers, and the next he is into star wars... In between, we have batman, spiderman, and captain america... From toys to video games, this kid has it made in the shade!!!! He also likes playing the violin... GO Diego!
That is current life summed up... More art is being created, more desserts are being baked, more toys are being purchased for SOMEONE in this house... more news to come but if you are on facebook or flickr or instagram, then you are pretty much caught up...

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it's going to be low-key over here... We'll putting up the christmas tree and my ZILLIONS of ornaments and decorations... I'll make a cornish hen for Ramel and Diego [yes, you read that right... since only 2 of the 4 people here eat meat, we've opted for NO leftovers and one juicy cornish hen cooked in a vintage "Flavo-rite"...] With Isabella's help, I'll also be making homemade twice baked mashed potatoes, pumpkin bread, and MAYBE a cake cooked in another one of my vintage pans :D.... We might squeeze in a movie or save energy to check out black friday [we go for the sake of shopping at an ODD hour of the night...] What will you be doing?
While it's rather a late dose of greenbeanbaby, here is a recent product created... Steampunk Loki- the supervillain god of Thor... There are more ornaments and dominos to be made this week, in between getting all the christmas decorations up, Thanksgiving, and recovering from [perhaps] the flu... I can't say that it's going as fast as hoped to be, but by December 3rd, there will be plenty of goodies for sale!
Another day, another famous person cut out of paper and glued onto a 3x6 vintage domino.... Meet Dwight Schrute and his infamous bobblehead... Determined Worker Intense Good worker Hard worker Terrific... DWIGHT!
It's Thursday and even though Michael Scott is no longer on the office, we can be assured that Dwight will give us an awesome episode!
Good morning everyone! Today's dose of greenbeanbaby was actually completed only moments ago... This is a cut paper illustration on a 3x6 inch vintage domino... Yes, a new series is brewing, along with the square superheroes [you can see here]... Enjoy!!!!
Hello all!! Today's dose is actually a video that a good friend of mine made! It's a Halo 3 machina, so if you know your video games, or know someone who does, it's to be loved AND admired!!!! Please take a moment to view, share, enjoy, and support independent artists!!!
Hello All! My apologies in the recent lack of doses... I've been rather busy with family life, baking, infographic designs, and more baking, my cut paper work has been sitting on the table... But we'll be making up for that soon! Happy Wednesday!!
Note---the books in the background are:
Cheaper by the Dozen
Bells on their toes
The love of Julie Borel
Little Women
Homer Price
Mark Twain's Wit and Wisecracks
These li'l fellas are from a video game called monster hunters... A custom order completed over the weekend, with room to play a bit of video games, myself! Happy Monday!
Another nearly 5 inch tall framed illustration... There's two more to complete today as well as the hopes of taking a real pumpkin and making pie [or muffins] out of it... Diego brought home a pumpkin and has begged for it to be turned into something great :) We'll see if we can make it happen!
