8. 12WC: Portfolio Piece #5

My goal for the 12WC was to create a couple of black and white line drawings for my portfolio along with 4 other full color pieces.  Here is the first of the two, acool cat skateboarder!

10. Airport Sketch: Grumpy Bear

Here's another rough sketch I did while at the airport.  I was humored by 3 men, all dressed in various suits and each a different body shape. They were each talking on the cell phone by a window.  One of them reminded me of a grumpy bear.  It was obvious that he wasn't happy with the person on the other end of the line.  It's kind of fun to watch people when you can't hear what they are saying.  Their mannerisms and expressions tell you so much!

14. Sketches

I recently went to see my niece run in the NCAA Nationals for Steeplechase.  I took my sketch book and watercolors in hopes that I would have time to do some work.  Unfortunately, the only time I had was waiting for my flight on the way there.  Here are two sketches I did.  I think I will work on both of these further to a finished piece for my portfolio.

16. Owl & Mouse

This is #4 in the 12 Week Challenge portfolio pieces.  I took longer than usual with this one.  There was a lot going on it in it.  Plus, since it goes along with my other mouse paintings, I wanted it to be consistent with them.   Digital ink & color.

18. Birthday Party!

This is the fifth week of the 12 Week Challenge at the Zero2Illo blog.  This was originally going to be a line drawing.  However, thanks to a suggestion at the Zero2Illo Ning Clubhouse,  I added the color and I really liked it.  So here it is in its full color state!

21. Redo: Contagious

For my 2nd 12 Week Challenge portfolio piece, I redid from scratch an Illustration Friday piece I had created a couple of years ago.  It was one of my favorites.  It was also one that I thought I could use my little mouse character in.  I am very pleased with the final piece.
