Your challenge: You need help defining and refining your creative and business marketing strategy but you can't afford to hire a full-time Chief Marketing Officer. The solution - Rent a CMO - rent me!
Think about this:
I am a business and creative strategist - not only seeing what is, but understanding what isn’t and what can be.

I believe in the power of storytelling - understanding how to communicate to a specific target market, telling an authentic, engaging and compelling story, creating original multimedia content and producing interactive brand funded experiences.

I believe in the power of design and copy to strengthen and unleash the power of a brand.

I am a branding strategist - clearly seeing the big picture five years in advance, while understanding the immediate deliverables that need to be accomplished – effectively and efficiently.
By the hour, by the day, by the week, by the project, as your CMOH!, I can help you BRAND BETTER!
A strategy means little if it can’t be implemented. Creative execution amounts to even less if it can’t be measured. With an emphasis on both design invention and brand performance, I take the mystery out of marketing. By approaching the brand as a strategic business challenge, I’m able to drive results in line with the brand’s overall goals and deliver greater value. I define and refine creative and business strategies that strengthen and unleash the power of brands. I make the possible plausible.
I like to think of myself as a marketing mixologist, blending the perfect combination of marketing communications from a full-service bar of interactive and integrated resources. My experience has taught me that to do it right, to engage and influence a brand’s target audience, the path to success requires equal parts art and science, creativity and strategic thinking.
Whether predicting consumer behaviors or changing them, launching a new business or launching a new way of doing business, I approach marketing communications as a collaborative engagement designed to solve a brand’s unique business challenge. The result is a strategy, story and experience that’s unexpectedly fresh, and drives the business forward.
I develop/update and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for multimedia content creation, production and distribution. Working with internal and external teams, I help to define and refine business and creative strategies, creating digital, online and interactive destinations and original, multimedia content (and live events) that strengthens and unleashes the power of brands - connecting and engaging withconsumers and fans in unique ways that create loyalty and generate (identify, create and maximize) revenue. From creating interactive and multimedia websites (that provides brands the ability to collect and analyze vital consumer and media usage information) to creating, producing and sponsoring original content for broadcast, web and mobile, to product placement in all media and creating live events - it is all about unleashing the power of a brand.
I have superior project and account management skills and I am extremely strategic, creative and flexible with an outstanding client orientation. I have a deep understanding and knowledge of the current digital landscape, including web development, online community development, online video programs and campaigns, emerging media, and trends in interactive experiences, social media and mobile. I enjoy working closely with clients developing and aligning digital strategies and providing innovative, multimedia creative solutions - including global event development, production and marketing, social media, digital/interactive marketing, direct response, e-commerce and public relations. I’m focused on creating innovative, engaging, effective and award-winning multimedia work, creating new revenue generating streams and winning new business.
I create innovative, interactive and multimedia content | experiences that motivate, inspire and change how people talk, act, think and feel about brands. They are the result of my more than 20 years of experience and expertise in the development of creative and business strategies, managing digital projects, multimedia and event production, sponsorship activations, data, analytics, user experience, media and technology. These experiences are supported by the use of traditional, digital, social and mobile media, as well as new technologies and invented media.
I look forward to learning more about your needs, challenges and expectations and exploring the many ways we can help each other and work together. Please let me know - through email - the best day/time for us to connect and I will make myself available.
I am an international award winning Creative Director, Producer, Director, Writer, Author, and Inventor. Check out the trailers for my novel, “Beyond Reasonable Doubt” at https://youtu.be/nU72BV5p--8 and for my book of poetry and original illustrations at https://youtu.be/07Xfe-UsOYo I was featured in “50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading”, by Danielle Hampson & Don McCauley (2010) Check out the music video I produced and co-directed for Bazooka Bubble Gum that has more than 3.6million views at https://youtu.be/yZXRaVBf0pY And, I created the Buddy Lite Illuminated Safety Leash, one of the best selling pet products to be featured at The Sharper Image.

9. Sexy In The City

I     I recently provided creative direction at a video and photo shoot for a lingerie and beauty/skincare client. I also helped to define and refine their creative and business strategies and implemented processes for the development and execution of all aspects of digital (interactive and integrated), experiential marketing, advertising, promotions, sponsorships and live event marketing, refined Customer Experience both in retail and online, developed and implemented customer loyalty and affiliate marketing programs, managed internal teams focused on website upgrades, logo development, e-commerce, editorial, graphic design, product photography, social media, PR, live brand-funded events, tradeshow exhibits and managed, sourced, negotiated and hired outside vendors on an as-needed basis. I shot still photos on my iPhone 6 and used only natural lighting - here are two of my favorite shots.

I am very pleased to write this letter of reference on behalf of Dennis Gelbaum in my capacity as CIO and CMO of SRS Distribution. With revenue of almost two billion dollars, SRS Distribution is the third largest roofing distribution company in the United States, distributing roofing and building materials to professional residential and commercial contractors from more than 150 locations in 38 states. Overall, Dennis has proven to be a detail oriented, skilled, thoughtful, and thoroughly professional member of the SRS team, which I will briefly elaborate on below.

Dennis was originally hired as the Program Director to manage the development and implementation of our industry first and trend setting E-Commerce site and the refining, designing and launching of our new corporate site. During the interview and onset of the project, Dennis’ sharp skills for branding strategy, marketing, multimedia production and digital communications revealed themselves and Dennis immediately put those skills into action. Dennis reviewed the existing plans and helped refine the plan and enhance the direction we were taking. Dennis was asked to move into the role of Creative Director for the remainder of the project and continued to play an essential role in leading new initiatives around marketing, advertising, promotions, social media and digital communications.

One of the biggest contributions Dennis made was the creation and development of MAP 360° - an interactive ecommerce site that can help our customers grow their business through the use of customized marketing, advertising and promotional products. Dennis was the driving force behind the site from ideation to production to implementation. MAP 360° is self-contained and created a new revenue stream that has no impact on our current staff or resources. This project demonstrated his ability to both work independently on self-started projects as well as working with staff on/off site.

Not only is Dennis highly intelligent; he also is very hard-working. He has tackled every project assigned to him with enthusiasm and competence. He invariably understands exactly what a project is all about from the outset, and how to get it done quickly and effectively. He consistently produces superior quality work, on time, and within budget targets. In my estimation, Dennis is a true example of the type of employee that every employer wants: accountable and responsible, with a superior work ethic and a high degree of integrity.

In closing, I recommend Dennis Gelbaum very highly for any position that involves complexity and creativity, with high quality requirements. He is an exceptionally bright and hardworking person who will do his very best to do an outstanding job for whomever he works for/with. If I may be of further assistant with regard to Dennis, my contact information is below.

11. Dolphin Boy will inspire kids to read and promote QTE - Quality Time Experiences!

Kids need to read and Dolphin Boy will help promote childhood literacy. Dolphin Boy will also create QTE - a quality time experience between children and their families.

'Dolphin Boy' will feature pop-up illustrations, pages to color and access to a downloadable soundtrack. The book will be accompanied by an interactive website where visitors can share stories (multimedia) about friendships - imaginary and real - and connect with others (socially) who have engaging, motivating and inspiring  stories to tell and share. The story of Dolphin Boy will also be re-created as an animated web based series and feature film.
Phase One: The first round of funding will be used to create the book, launch the website, and record the soundtrack/theme song.  ($150000 - expected delivery date Jan 2016)
Phase Two: second round of funding will be used to expand the website, complete the soundtrack and start work on the animated web series. ($250000 - expected delivery Jan 2017)
Phase Three: The third round of funding will be used to complete the animated series.  ($350000 - expected delivery date Sept 2017)
The biggest risk we face - after Funding Phase One and completing the book - is not having enough funding for Phase Two and Three.
The Story of Dolphin Boy
Caleb is a ten-year old boy who has the ability to communicate with dolphins. Although he tries to convince others of his unique and often magical ability, no one believes him – except for his best friend and neighbor Sara and her father Sam, who is a Marine Biologist and a Professor at the local University.
Caleb has been diagnosed with a life ending disease and although he has days when he feels he can do anything, he is digressing very quickly. The doctor’s agree that he has very little time left and they recommend that he spend his time out of the hospital and at home with his family. They offer the family very little in the way of comfort but do try to prepare them for the inevitable. They are told Caleb will die within the next few weeks.
Every afternoon, Caleb, Sara and Sam visit the beach and swim in the ocean. Sam is amazed to see the number of dolphins who appear and he begins to notice that their numbers are increasing each day. When Caleb enters the ocean, dolphins instantly surround him. And with every swim in the ocean, with every touch of a dolphin, Caleb gains some of his strength back. But the improvements in Caleb’s condition are only temporary, remaining for less than a few hours after swimming in the ocean.
One morning, Caleb calls his parents into his room. He calls for Sara and Sam too. He tells everyone that he is OK and that he is ready to die. He assures everyone that he is not in pain, but that he must go now. He explains that he wants to go out on the family boat.
Caleb, his parents, Sara and Sam are in the family boat holding Caleb, who is going in and out of consciousness. He whispers to his mother and father that they need to place him in the ocean. He wants to feel the coolness of the sea. They reluctantly agree. They jump overboard and Sam and Sara gently hand Caleb to them. As they do, dolphins appear, swimming right up to the family.
One of the dolphins places his head in Caleb's outstretched hands. Caleb strokes the dolphin and the dolphin responds to Caleb’s touch and sounds. Caleb looks up to his mom and asks her to let him go. She doesn’t know what he means. Caleb tells her that she needs to let him go with the dolphins. She becomes hysterical and as she and her husband loosen their grip on their son, a miracle begins to occur.

Caleb grows stronger and a bright light shines through his eyes and his smile provides a sense of warmth and calmness for everyone. He takes one last look at his parents, Sam and Sarah and says goodbye. Caleb is slowly transformed into a dolphin and jumps high in the air as if to celebrate life. He is alive and he is home. He will be missed but never forgotten.

12. "Those who tell stories shape society" Plato

<!--[if gte mso 9]> Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE <![endif]-->

Dennis Gelbaum is an international award winning Creative Director, Producer, Director, Writer, Author and Inventor and is available for freelance writing and multimedia production assignments.

“It's a pleasure to brainstorm with Dennis, who understands the power of copy. He's a creative powerhouse. Just test him out. For example, tell him about a project you're working on and he'll return with multiple (and brilliant) solutions. And being a self-described copy-butcher, I admire his ability to use words so clearly and powerfully.”
Linda Gottfried, Chief Creative Officer, Color, Light & Shadow ”

Dennis is the author of the novel, ‘Beyond Reasonable Doubt’, a character driven, mystery-thriller with more twists and turns than a double helix and 'Something About Going Home', a book of original poetry with illustrations by Christina Qualiana – and is featured in 50 Great Writers You Should Be Reading, by Danielle Hampson & Don McCauley. Dennis invented the Buddy Light Illuminated Safety Leash, one of the best selling pet products ever featured at The Sharper Image. And Dennis received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from American University and established the NAVARAC Scholarship...an annual contribution providing students funds, services and resources to help them complete film/video/multi-media projects. “If you don’t pay it forward, what’s the point?”

Dennis has worked with clients all over the world, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to conceive and execute brand funded content and interactive branding experiences for two to hundreds of thousands of participants. Dennis has created, written, directed and/or produced hundreds of TV (received the Cannes Lion for a series of commercials for BBDO/Black & Decker) and radio commercials, print ads, billboards, promos, trailers, music videos, live multimedia interactive events (concerts, tours, festivals, meetings, product introductions, in-store promotions and museum exhibits), corporate awareness and fundraising films/videos and hours of long & short form programming and content for theatrical release, broadcast, web and mobile. “I’ve often been described as being an innovator, out of the box thinker, superior leader and manager. (LOL) I am all those things as well as being fearless when it comes to creating, presenting, selling, planning and executing. I re-imagined the box and now there isn’t one!”

“Dennis is a creative and business strategist who gets things done! I brought Tha Heights (the Latino Boys Group out of Washington Heights, NY) to Dennis and almost immediately, he put them together with Bazooka Bubble Gum and their advertising agency and created a multimedia campaign to feature the guys in five TV commercials, a music video and exclusive web content. Dennis directed the five TV spots and co-directed the music video - which has more than 3.5 million views to date! Dennis just sees things differently than most - and when he says he will do something - he does it and the results are always fantastic!”  Patricia Taylor, CEO, Offbeat Entertainment
