I met new people and picked up new books! And I managed not to fangurl over Todd McCaffrey or mention anything about hitch-hiking in Ireland to get his mother to sign my copy of Masterharper of Pern. No, that wasn’t me. Really.
Panels aren’t as scary to participate in and moderate as I thought they were, though I have to remember that it’s a: nothing personal, b: all in the name of fun and discussion, c: nothing personal.
Baron Munchaussen/extemporaneous storytelling is too much fun for its own good, especially when it involves black market beagles (interruptus, not gloriosus).
Building a family tree for an extended camp of Horse Clanfolk is a tedious, but entirely necessary, task. Katjin might not remember the names of his umpteen cousins day in and day out, but Soren lives with these people, and would actually remember the every ins and outs of his kin, especially the ones he shared a yer with.

Good job with the exposure! I’m glad Prizm came through and sent out your books as well as Michelle’s and Tamara’s. We need all the buzz we can get, considering how much of an underdog we all are.

Hey, I finished both books. They were great! I just fell in love with Katjin and Mikeal. I started to do fan art for it. Hehe, it’s the nerd in me. (>w<) Hope to hear from you.

I’ll be at ConDor Con this weekend! Here’s the schedule, if you’d like a chance to see me make a fool of myself in person on a panel either Saturday or Sunday. I’m even moderating! And I’ll have books for sale:
Say hi! I’ll give you a pretty postcard with the Heart Sense or Heart Song cover on it. If you don’t come for me, you can always come for Todd McCaffrey or Sherwood Smith or my new friend Lisanne Norman or any of the other fantabulous guests.
Hee. I’m a guest.
Note to self: get money from the ATM. I foresee spending a lot of it this weekend…
Through no fault of the publisher, but mostly fault of the writer, Heart’s Price (Book Three) is going to be pushed off to June, just for my own sanity. I won’t lie. The end of 2008 was not a pretty one, and I lagged. This way, Heart’s Price, and Soren (because the book’s ALL ABOUT SOREN) will get their proper due. That way, I can concentrate on things like networking and blogging and prepping for ConDor, which I’m really excited about. I won’t be at DragonCon, but I might try a couple of the other local cons around here.
So, there’s that.

Also, the official title for Book Three is Heart’s Price. We’re working on it.
It looks like I’ll be going to ConDor down in San Diego in about six weeks as a panelist (*insert secret squee here*). I’ll let you know where and when.
Now, back to Soren and Aidan and that damned Empire…

Heart Song is tentatively due out on December 15th. I’ll keep you posted! And Heart Something is still a work in progress, so forthcoming details will also be posted…eventually.
A friend of mine traveled back east to be in a burlesque show. But that’s not the point. *g* She flew on a plane, and she took a book with her to read on the flight. The book she took?
My book.
She thought it was an excellent book, and wondered how I thought up all those words. This particular friend of mine: computer programmer, lover of art and architecture and motorcycles, isn’t one of my ‘writer friends.’ Heart Sense isn’t dedicated to her because she’s not one of the people I imagined picking up the book. We don’t talk reading tastes, even though she’s filched a few books from the lending library of K L Richardsson. When she bought the book, I didn’t think she was buying to read it. A couple of friends bought it, probably just to say, oh, I knew her when…
But she read it. And she enjoyed it. And she can’t wait for the next book, with the adventures in the land of the witches.
I guess that’s what a real writer is like: people read your book, they digest your book, and sometimes they even enjoy your book. It becomes a part of them. And now, my book and my words and my world are a part of her. She can talk about my book to people, and if they’ve read it, they can talk about it back. And that kind of boggles my brain.
I’m a real writer. And in December, I’ll have the second book to prove it.

Heart Sense is now available on the Prizm Books website! Heart Sense is officially ‘released’! You can get it in both eBook ($5.95) or paperback ($13.95)
I’ve finished round one of edits on Heart Song, and am now going in to fill in some gaps. Look for Heart Song in December
Heart Something is still a ‘work in progress’, but I’m getting excited to see how the Empire will crumble.
The two or three people that have read the book apparently enjoyed it. Remember, I’d love to hear from you, so let me know what you think so far!
So, Heart Song is officially in edits, Heart Something (aka Book Three) is officially in progress, and I survived WeHo Bookfair and Yaoi-Con, all in the same weekend!
WeHo was fun–I enjoyed talking to everyone that I did, and if I sounded like a complete loon, well, that’s how I usually am. I met some cool librarians and people actually sounded interested in the book–or they faked it really well. In any case, thank you for listening to my spiel.
Yaoi-Con was the same. It was intense and awesome and OMG, I’m a real writer?! I’m still not sure how I feel about that, presenting myself as a ‘real’ writer. Yeah, there’s the book, and the fact that it’s on Amazon, and a couple people have read it (I know of five who’ve bought it, and my mother-in-law liked it!), but it still doesn’t seem real, y’know? That, and I’m still working on the ‘Heart Sense and sequels in a nutshell’ thing. So, again, if I talked to you and I rambled, thank you for listening to me. If you liked the book, awesome! If you didn’t, ummm, my name is not KL Richardsson, and those aren’t the droids you were looking for.
The only exhausting thing was the being ‘on’ all weekend, y’know? It’s performance. (Or, if you’re Thoth, it’s prayformance, but that’s another story.) It’s high-energy, and OMG, did I do nothing but sleep for two days when I got home.
Other than that, edits on Heart Song, which is from Mikael’s POV, and it’s due out in December. Let me know what you think of the book! And, as I promised my anonymous commenter *coughsibling*, I won’t mention the blender. You’re just lucky that the Empire is a fantasy world, where no one’s invented kitchen appliances yet.

By the headwinds on this here blog, ye might be guessin’ that I favor the pirates, arr. Indeed, if each day were but Talk Like a Pirate Day, me life would not need such gold and treasure. All for me grog, me jolly grog, and me Talk Like a Pirate Day.
As Heart Sense be released from Davy Jones’ locker soon, I give ye the freedom of the seas to celebrate. Raise a tankard, fine lads and lasses, and three cheers to the pirates of yore and of stories yet to be!
Huzzah! Huzzah! Huzzah!

Thanks to my lovely friend Bree, I now have this wonderful-looking website! I’m very happy. In fact, I may have to do the dance of joy. Numfar! Do the Dance of Joy!
Elisa Rolle, reviewist extraordinaire, also gave Heart Sense a glowing review on her website, and on Amazon.
And, the first person to post a comment on this pretty new blog gets a Heart Sense postcard, all for their very own selves. I’ll even send it by USPS, which means it might get there…eventually.
Yes, K L is excited. And is now off to pimp Heart Sense and to figure out how to take down that damned empire…
