I need the help of my awesome fans! It's time to choose an author photo for MOON CHOSEN, the first book in my new fantasy series, TALES OF A NEW WORLD. Will you help me by voting for your favorite? Dogs - terriers and shepherds - are a huge part of the world, so these photos feature my Scotties (puppies - Captain Kirk and The Mighty Khan, adult Scottie - Cameron/Cammyman), and my Warrior German Shepherd, Badger. Release date of MOON CHOSEN is October 18th. I promise it's worth the wait! photo credit to Daniel at Stark Photography. Okay, so which is your favorite?? XXXOOO PC

Hi Guys! Check out the placeholder for MOON CHOSEN, the first book in my new fantasy series, TALES OF A NEW WORLD! This isn't the final cover, but it does mean that it will be up for preorder soon, and it means the release date of October 18th is getting closer! As we move toward publication, I'll be releasing LOTS of information about the series and the first book, as well as hosting a bunch of cool giveaways. So, stay tuned! Here's some preliminary info: my lovely publisher is labeling the series as YA fantasy (my heroine is 18 - hero is 23), but I'm just writing the books I most want to read and ignoring the genre labels as I tend to do); it is set in the Pacific NW, in and around Portland, OR, and Sauvie Island; the setting time is in the future - centuries after a massive ecological apocalypse that completely changed our world; animals feature predominately in the series - as do ancient goddesses/gods; I LOVE THIS WORLD AND THIS SERIES! More soon! XXXOOO PC

7. Helpers!

Puppy update! I'm revising my awesome new manuscript, EARTH WALKER (Yes! I'll be giving you publishing details in the coming week!), and the Cast Clan is all situated to help with the rewriting! Of course we have Cammy Cast (on the left), Badger Cast (Warrior German Shepherd in the middle), the new Scottie additions, Kirk and Khan (Khan is hard to see!), and finally Tiberius looking on perplexed by the puppies! Not to worry HoN cat lovers! Tiberius acclimated perfectly and decided he does, indeed, like puppies! And now I'm climbing on my treaddesk and getting to work while my helpers gnaw bones...not sure who has the better work deal...

. You may post as many different titles as you'd like. Here’s a brief description of the series. Good luck! I can’t wait to read what you come up! XXXOOO PC The books are set in a time of rebirth. The modern world as we know it has completely self-destructed and those left behind have changed…evolved…bonding with the few plants and animals that have also survived. These people live simple lives in the forest and on the plains using the sun and the moon as their sources of power. They draw down the energy of day and night, and are fed, body and spirit, by the two opposites, and by the Earth herself. At the heart of the first book is a young female protagonist, born illegitimately of two enemy tribes. She has been hidden away her whole life until heartbreaking circumstances force her to find the courage to accept herself and her destiny. If this new realm of survivors are going to reclaim their humanity they must seek inventive solutions to rebuild themselves and their world while encountering adversity, love, and loss set against a stark background of breathtaking beauty that holds both life and death.

He has a name! Please welcome Tiberius to the Cast household. As you can see, he is beautiful AND fearless (and he is 'helping' me write along with my Warrior, who is baffled by how brave Tiberius is). Oh, and for those of you worried about the shepherd and the cat - Badger (my German Shedder) is absolutely not animal aggressive. Eat a person - yep! Eat a dog or cat - no way! Longtime fans may wonder where my Scottie, Cammyman is...well, he doesn't like cats. My giant male, Patchy Poo the Pud, taught him to keep his distance, and even though Patches has been frolicking with the Goddess for four years, Cammyman remembers and prefers to help me write from the other side of my treaddesk! Back to working on my new book! XXXOOO p.s. As I posted this the theme for Star Trek stared playing on my Pandora station! A definite sign Tiberius is the right name!

Well guys, on my way home from Amsterdam I popped over to London to meet with my lovely publishing team (waving at Little, Brown/Atom Books), and to do some research for my new trilogy. Whilst enjoying fab London and the countryside I stopped in several bookstores and signed stock! Sooooo, you can find books signed by me at the following stores: Waterstones on Oxford, Piccadilly, and Trafalgar Square, as well as in the basement of AWESOME Selfridges (who doesn't love Mr. Selfridge!). Also while I was on my way to the Avebury Henge (where I was researching - and having a pint at the Red Lion) I signed books at a wonderful little bookstore in the beautiful village of Malborough called The White Horse Bookshop. That's all I had time for, and I am now on my way home. As always, I love me some UK, and had a great time in London! Hopefully I'll return soon on tour for my new trilogy! XXXOOO PC

18. Finally chosen by a lovely cat!

A cat finally chose me! I've been catless for several years since the death of the totally awesome Patchy Poo the Pud, who died gallantly at fifteen years old battling a bobcat out at my ranch. I've been waiting and waiting, and FINALLY! Please meet my new boy. He hasn't told me his name yet, but I'll be listening and let you guys know!

20. Movies ruin books? Nah!

With all the HoN movie discussions I feel compelled to write this post. Movies are movies. Books are books. A movie can do not one damn thing to a book. Nadda. Zip. Nothing. Book readers envision their own wonderful, miraculous, intricate versions of what a writer brings to life through her/his words. Writers weave their own kind of magick, casting a spell on their readers and taking them to worlds the authors create. No producer, screenwriter, director, or actor can touch the book they are attempting to adapt to an utterly different medium whereby only one version of what millions (in the case of HoN more than twenty million - THANK YOU HON FANS!) of different readers have been "seeing" in their imaginations. No movie can ruin the Nerd Herd we love! Or our batshit crazy Neferet! Or yummy Kalona, Darius, Rephaim (happy sigh), Travis and his Bonnie, Nala, Dutchess, Skylar, Grandma Redbird, etc. They will always live in your imaginations just as you envisioned them as you were reading the books. On film you may or may not enjoy a different version of the House of Night, but IT WILL BE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT EACH OF YOU IMAGINED IN YOUR MINDS. That's okay! That's an adventure! So, the series has been optioned for film by Samuel Hadida at Davis Films. I had my choice of producers, and chose Samuel because of his vision and enthusiasm for HoN, and for his desire to please my fans. The screenwriter is the utterly fabulous Marc Haimes. I have collaborated with Marc on the script for the first movie and it is awesomesauce. Everything else is up to Mr. Hadida. If you want to influence how, when, and if the movie(s) are made, tell him by posting on his Facebook page! Thank you for your passion for the House of Night. Kristin Cast and I heart our fans and wish you the brightest of blessings and love...always love! XXXOOOPC

21. Research...research...research...

As you guys know I'm working hard on the first book of my new fantasy trilogy, which means that I'm continually researching (before and during the entire writing process). Well, I just got back from an awesome research trip to WA where I stayed in a treehouse! It was a great experience and perfect research for the series. Check out a few research pictures and here's the link for the resort: http://www.treehousepoint.com

22. The restaurant tour post!

Hi Guys! I've been meaning to do a restaurant post to shout out to the awesome places Kristin Cast and I ate while we were on tour - so here we go! After some health issues about a year and a half ago my Significant Other and I went on a 40 day Master Cleanse, and then switched to entirely vegan. I stay at least 90% raw, eating only living, plant-based, non-processed foods. ALL of my health problems are gone. ALL of my prescription medications are gone. I'm healthy, in awesome shape, and loving life! For those of you who also live a raw, vegan lifestyle, you know that it can be challenging when you travel. Well, Kristin Cast, who is mostly vegan, and I found some really wonderful restaurants, and we'd like to share them with you! First, in Tulsa the only restaurant that really understands vegan is the lovely Cafe Samana. I just wish they would expand their hours! Whenever I'm in town you can definitely find me there! Next up is the totally fabulous Lov'n It Live not far from the Atlanta, GA airport. I loved loved loved this awesome restaurant!

On to Denver, where I discovered a lovely little restaurant called Nectar House - Raw Vegan Cafe and Elixir Bar, inside a cool yoga studio. If I lived in Denver (a city I adore!) I would definitely frequent this place AND use the yoga studio! And then came Chicago!! I love Chicago. Seriously. So it didn't surprise me to find what I'm going to add to my top 10 favorite restaurants worldwide in that wonderful city! Kristin and I fell in love with Karyn's Raw! Karyn has three restaurants in Chicago, and I'm sure all are delicious, but Kristin and I stuck with the raw restaurant the whole time we were there. And I bought Karyn's cookbooks! And I met Karyn herself - she was gracious and welcoming and beautiful. (We also met the gorgeous Tasha Smith there that night as well. Thank you Tasha for the Uber tip!) A big bunch of awesomesauce happened in yet another of my favorite cities, San Francisco. Kristin and I discovered Samover Tea Lounge. They have great vegan dishes (though it isn't a fully vegan or fully raw restaurant) and absolutely delicious tea! Love love love the Green Ecstasy! Later that night after our wonderful event at the Emeryville Barnes & Noble, we discovered Pause Wine Bar, a fully organic wine bar with a wonderful manager who had great vegan dinner recommendations! Finally, we got to Vancouver, BC (another city I love!), and the fantastic Naam on 4th Street. The music was as great as the food and the atmosphere! Thank you Naam! So, there you have it! My favorite restaurants from the REDEEMED Tour! If you're near any of them, please check them out! Here's to your health and happiness! XXXOOO PC
