Started a mini paint chipboard album and thought I would give you guys a quick peak at it. Have all the pages pretty much prepped and ready to go, just need to fill them with photos or some journaling or whatever. 😬. And obviously have to figure out a way to hide or alter that stationery set label on the front. LoL!

Like I said in my previous post, I haven't had a lot of time to be creative lately, but here's a few little things over the last few months that I've done to try to keep those creative juices flowing. Doodling, painting and keeping some sort of notebook seems to be about it lately. I often find myself practicing lettering styles more than anything.

I can't believe I haven't posted anything here since May! Work has been crazy this summer and I haven't had a lot of time to be as creative as I used to be or would like to be. However I have been keeping up with my planner pretty well, so for any fellow planners who likes to see other peoples layouts like I do, or if you're looking for ideas to help you get organized, this post is for you. ;)
Sorry for the lack of posts the last couple of months. It's hard to believe it's already May! I swear time goes by faster the older you get! Anyway, I figured it was high time to post an update of what I've been up to! :) Rather than posting everything chronologically, I wanted to try something a little different this round and post things in categories while also keeping this post in sync with some of my other social media posts, descriptions, hashtags and all. Hopefully it won't make the post TOO long, but either way you'll at least get all the writing broken up with some (hopefully) cool photos. ;) P.S. If you're one of the rare, awesome people who follows my blog, or found it, because of my digital art, just know that I am slowly trying to get back into digitally drawing (have kind of taken a break from it for awhile) and will hopefully have some new things to share with you guys soon. Probably something very hideous, but some sort of digital drawings none the less. ;)
MIXED MEDIA:
PLANNER STUFF:
This section is probably pretty boring, but for anyone else like me, I thought I'd still post some of my random planner pages. I've been struggling with keeping a planner and getting it organized, so maybe this will help those also dealing with those issues.
I am a terrible craft hoarder. I buy so many cute things and then never use them for various reasons. The main two being that I'm either intimidated by them or I'm waiting for the 'right project' to use them on. Both of which are ridiculous reasons not to use my cute stuff! So my goal is to start using more of my supplies. I know some I will save for special projects, but I can't save every single thing! I've been starting out by using more supplies in my planners. I've gotten a bit tired of my current MAMBI planner layout. The colors feel so drab and boring now compared to the new one I have waiting and I really hate the morning, afternoon and evening breakout. I'm so glad the new planners don't all have that. I've started predecorating my new planner but since I can only plan so far ahead, I want to jazz up my old planner in the meantime to make me want to use it more. This week so far is still pretty boring as far as overall layout, but I'm slowly making it functional and prettier to look at. #plannerdecorating #mambihappyplanner #plannersupplies #michaelsartsandcrafts #stickers #stickynotes #letters #diystickers #postitnotes #organization LETTERING:
STAMPING:
RANDOM/MISC. STUFF:
I always have some random stuff going on it seems. One of those random things has been my interest in lists. This was my listers gotta list book for April. I accidentally labelled it March and had to change out the letters. :P I've slacked off on my listing the last several months though. (I didn't even finish this one either!) I've decided /realized that while I like to list things, keeping a daily, thought provoking set of lists is not really my thing. I love the idea and would love to keep up with daily lists, but I'm just not that sort of person. It's just too hard for me to keep up with. I may have to work out a different way to do the lists in the future.
Pulled out some of my old stash to use on my Mother's Day project. It's funny how much you can find hidden away. I had a bunch of Anna Griffin pages and a few matching embellishments that are just gorgeous. Plus a cardboard book (from Recollections I think?) as well as tons of other miscellaneous supplies and papers I had completely forgotten about. Most of which I have been saving for that "perfect" project. Half of them I don't even know the companies of. Still, this stuff has to start being used! To make room for more, obviously. #annagriffin #recollections #cardboardbook #dylusionsstamps #stamps #diycards #diygifts #mothersday #happyplanner
BIBLE / FAITH JOURNALING:
I've recently wanted to start keeping a Bible or Faith journal for my own spiritual growth. With both Illustrated Faith and Documented Faith and just Bible journaling in general growing so much lately, it's inspired me to also want to bring my artistic side into my faith.
JUST A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS...
I found these cute sticky note sets from the dollar tree. And they are actually not too bad! A lot of the Cheaper priced sticky notes I buy just plain suck but these seem somewhat decent for a dollar set. We'll see how well they hold up I guess after I use them a bit more though. #dollartree #dollartreefinds #stickynotes #plannersupplies #spring #planner I also picked up a couple of new things this weekend. Michaels had a pretty big sale going on, so I couldn't help but get one of the new boho travelers notebooks. And I really shave fallen in love with the MAMBI happy planner. I saw this one and absolutely fell in love. The colors and style are so perfect. It doesn't start until July so I can't use it yet but I think this will be my new planner and my current planner will become my work planner. I can not wait to start using it! #mambihappyplanner #planner #boho #travelersnotebook #midoritravelersnotebook #happyplanner #mambi #michaelsartsandcrafts I see why people like ordering things online. It's so much fun having a package waiting for you. Oriental trading has had a free shipping deal going on that applies to any purchase amount, so I got these awesome mustache related stamps, brads, and paper clips all under $10. They have some great items at a really low price so definitely check them out! I had no idea they carried art supply types of items like this. Can't wait to try out the stamps. The stamps can also go straight into a large three ring binder or re punched to fit a smaller 5x 7 binder. #orientaltrading #happymail #snailmail #funstuff #stamps #mustaches #paperclips #supplies #happywednesday

I decided it was long enough to go without painting, so I pulled out my most colorful paints and went to town! I enhanced a few pieces I had already gelliprinted and did some new pieces as well and absolutely love them. Here's a few I've done so far.

I know these posts are probably boring, but for any other planner lovers out there, these are for you. ;) I can't remember if I mentioned that I bought a
Simple Stories Carpe Diem planner or not, but if not, then you know now. ;) I got the robins egg blue but they all look beautiful. I'm thinking about either getting another color in the future or possibly trying out a
websters color crush planner. We'll see I guess. I really have fell in love with my
happy planner by MAMBI, too.

A quick update on some cool new pocket letter/planer goodies I've come across lately as well as a couple of pocket letters I've sent out.
My mom found these awesome box kits on sale and while they're actually for Christmas, they make perfect Valentine boxes as well!
Found these adorable drink and pastry paper sticky note set at the dollar tree! They all come in a pack together and while the bigger two are just note pads, the little donut hole is a sticky note pad!
Found these awesome trio set of notebooks at the dollar tree as well. They are lined, unlined and graph papers. I decided to use the zebra one as my new Listers Gotta List booklet.
These are probably the cutest set of buttons I have ever seen. I absolutely love them and bought a set for myself as well as to send out in my pocket letters.
A sample of awesome goodies to play with that I bought from
scrapbook.com. I love the
Lawn Fawn stamp set. They're very high quality and super adorable!
Here's a sneak peek at the two pocket letters I've sent out this year for January.
This is my latest work in progress mixed media / valentines day pocket letter. Haven't found anyone to send it to so far but hopefully will soon. ;)

Okay, final post to officially catch you up to what I've been up to. This one is pretty short and simple. Mostly planner related. :p Feel free to scroll past if that's not your thing.
Like I said, I've been using the
Mambi Create 365 Happy Planner. The vertical layout is a bit different for me, since I really like horizontal, but it's slowly growing on me. I do like the sidebar at the beginning of each week to add any notes. I've pre planned some weeks ahead (Just certain things that I want to put in certain spots on my layouts) and after the first couple of weeks I've situated some notes on the side for future use that I think I will like. (Check back to see updates on what I'm referring to.) I've also been forcing myself to use my stickers and ephemera and other art related supplies. Weirdly, I have this thing where I don't want to use any of them because I may not be able to get them again in the future, if I really like them? Does that make sense? I just don't want to fall in love with something and then run out and not be able to get it or find it again. Most of the items I get are from random places and I have a hard time getting some of them for various reasons. However, I have to keep reminding myself that these are just stickers and paper. It's really not the end of the world if I don't get the exact same thing, no matter how much I might love it. That's also one reason why I really don't like using color coding systems much, since I might run out and the whole thing would be useless later. The only way I've found around that is to make my own color coded stickers.
I love browsing the basic/standard planner supplies at places like Walmart or Staples or where ever. For the most part there are some items available that will pretty much always be there or will never change. At least not for a really long time. They also tend to come in more bulk for cheaper prices and are just your basic, plain items. One of those items I've found are these little white stickers. I've lost (or thrown away) the original package and have had them for some time, so I'm not sure what they're intention is really for (generic labels or pricing stickers, I assume), but they are perfect to add in my Happy planner. I have very little daily space to use in this planner and since I tend to write large and the stickers I have take up a lot of space (and are expensive!), I've started coloring these white/blank stickers with my Hobby Colour markers and Copics to create my own. They have turned out awesomely! I only have a few things color coded so far but having so many colors to use makes it so much more fun.
Hopefully as the months and year goes on, I'll get better at figuring out what works best for me in this planner. I haven't been a huge fan of the arc binding system, but it's not as bad as I expected. I don't like not being able to add much to the planner though. But I really don't need to be adding in much. I'll keep my ring bound system for that sort of stuff.
Another goal of mine is to keep a Bible Journal this year. I want to grow spiritually and try to better myself in as many ways as possible, so I'm hoping this will help with that. And help me use the supplies I have. We'll see how I do with all these new goals. LoL

One thing I did do at the end of 2015 was doodle a bit more. Here are a few of the doodled pages I shared. Hope you enjoy! This year I've also started a daily doodle project in my
Year of the Doodle planner/journal. The pages in this thing are absolutely gorgeous. If you're not into doodling, it would really make a nice little planner as well. Or you could use it for both I guess. I'll post my progress so far in another post.

Sorry to be MIA so much the past few months. Sometimes life really gets crazy. :p
I guess I'll catch up by going somewhat backwards, with the most fun thing I want to share with the lesser of the fun things.
In October, I got to celebrate my birthday early by getting to go on an amazingly awesome cruise! It started out in Montreal and ended up in Boston. It. Was. AMAZING!
I haven't had much time to keep up with my planner and crafty side since I got back. But now that we're in 2016, my goal is to catch up on everything and actually keep up with it all year. These are a few of the photos I had at the end of 2015 that I haven't shared here yet. I will share my latest pictures in a new post.
I haven't kept up with my
Listers Gotta List challenge much since September. :/ I'm going to try to start over again this January, but I'm already seven days in and haven't started yet. :/ We'll see if I can get caught up on it this weekend.
Daily planner pages really haven't been my thing. I like them and all, but I really don't have enough to plan for day by day. A weekly spread is more my style. I've always used it and seem to fall back on it the best. My current system is the
MAMBI Create 365 Happy Planner. It's a vertical layout, which is what I used some in high school, but that's been years ago and my brain has had a hard time getting on track with it. It's working better now so maybe I will get used to it as time goes on.
There really hasn't been much to update since last year. Mostly just some planner pictures and a few crafty supply buys here and there at most. I haven't done much mixed media painting or anything. :/ My goal this year is to get back on board with being creative and actually do something creative every single day. But more about that in my next post!

Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of months. My mom had open heart surgery and things have just been crazy all the way around since June. :P I think it's all starting to even out a little, so I wanted to try to get caught back up on creating art regularly and posting it to share with you guys. :)
This post will probably be very random and a bit image heavy, just to warn you ahead of time.
I'll start with the newest stuff I've been working on and make my way back. I've recently gotten into doing videos of various things but I don't know how to upload them here yet so that will have to be another post. Hopefully I can figure it out soon! When I'm not doing that, I'm trying to stay organized with my planner. I have so much I want to share here about planner stuff for other people who might be wandering aimlessly in the planner world. I feel like I have been searching for the 'perfect' system for me for the past few years and I think I may finally be getting close to having systems that work for me. I'll probably go more into this in another post, but for now let me share with you what I've been doing lately.
Daily inserts.
These things are pretty awesome. It's basically just your list of daily to do items on one page. I found this one over at themintgreenpolkadot website. If you haven't looked at daily inserts and would like to, there are tons of options out there. Some you can buy, some are free, and if you don't find any you like you can definitely make your own. I tried making my own awhile back and didn't like how they came out so I plan to keep working on that when I get time, but for now these have worked perfectly for me. I've only been using them a short time, about a week I guess, but they are really great for keeping up with daily tasks that need more room then what you get on a weekly spread. And if you like to decorate your pages this gives you so much more room and options for that. I don't usually have time to decorate very much but these are perfect for letting me be just creative enough every day. I have always preferred the weekly spread and the month on two pages layouts, but the current weekly spreads I have are just not my style. They're very generic and just don't suit me the way I like. I'm thinking that once I run out I might get a years supply from Cocoadaisy. I really love the look of theirs. They even have a free download if you want to try it!
Also, just in case anyone wants to know, I have a basic
DayTimer planner. I got it very cheap at
Walmart about two years ago I think? I really love it but I plan to eventually get a
Kikki K. I've looked at so many brands and love a lot of the designs from
Filofax, but I think the
Kikki K brand would be perfect for what I want. I'm waiting for one to come out with a design I love. (I hate that I missed their mint ones!)
I haven't had much time to draw digitally in the last couple of months so I really don't have much to share in that department right now I'm afraid. :/ Hopefully I will get some time soon to pull out my computer more often. :) I do have some random things from around my studio or of things I've bought/come across/started working on, in case anyone is curious to see some behind the scenes sort of things. ;)
I feel like I am constantly cleaning or organizing my studio. Usually both! These stickers have moved around quite a bit lately. I organized them from the overstuffed drawer they were in and moved them to this bright neon pink container I picked up at the Dollar General store. I am able to see them better so that I will actually use them now! I still have a long way to go as far as getting my stickers into a good organized system but I think this is definitely a step forward. ;)
I found these adorable markers at my local
TJ Maxx. Aren't they cute? They're basically just (scented!) highlighters, but they were too cute to pass up.
I came across these old scrapbook/album books in one of my boxes. I'm pretty sure I've shared the Halloween one here before but just in case you're wondering if it still exists, it does! LoL! I just need to finish it!
I've decided to use these papers for my
September Listers Gotta List challenge. I'm so behind on Augusts' lists, but I plan to try to hop back on the bandwagon this upcoming month. I love finishing one of these books and knowing that it's done.
These sticker paper sheets are from the Dollar Tree. I think I bought about six different types but these three seem to be my favorites.
I picked these up this weekend. I just can't seem to resist paint chip samples. They're so beautiful and full of colorful goodness!
These two pages are from my
Smash books. The robot page I found in my large red smash book and the Think Happy page is from my daily smash journal (which I have also gotten behind in this past week). I think for 2016 I am going to do something completely different. I haven't quite decided yet but it definitely will not be in Smash books next year. LoL I love them but they are way too big for using them the way I have been.
And last but not least, my latest mixed media pages! :D I haven't had time to paint in ages but I plan to do a little painting as soon as possible. I absolutely love how these pages turned out. The colors just make me so happy and they make me want to be more creative. ;)
I hope you've enjoyed catching up with me today. Hopefully I will have more time to start posting regularly again, and actually get time to make things to post! Like I said, I'm hoping to figure out how to share my videos here as well, so that will hopefully be something I'll be able to share with you all soon. Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed your stay! <3 p="">

I don't feel like I've been very artistic the last few months. Not as much as I have been in the past anyway. So I've been trying to get back into the groove with my paints and watercolors. I've been working on my brush lettering and accents lately. I've noticed with my paints and digital art I like to use really bright, bold colors, where as with the watercolors I've been using very soft, pastel colors. The artist loft set I have doesn't seem to have any really bright / bold colors though. :I
Next is to try to get back into creating more digital art. :D

Thursday Inspiration.
"Be more awesome than a chicken riding an umbrella with an alligator."
I like to think I'm that awesome. ;)
The sticker is from the Darice dollar packs available at Michael's. I seem to buy a new set every time I go in!
Weekend quotes in my new striped notebook to keep me going this week. I think I may make this my quote book. It currently is a catchall list book but I really adding some of my favorite quotes to it.
I have a library book I need to read, so I thought some reading/book quotes might inspire me.
I keep seeing all of these cute paper clips people have made, so I made a couple the other night and added this little bow one to my a5 planner and it matches everything perfectly. I ended up accidentally touching the scalding hot glue to my thumb and finger as I was holding it and almost dropped it and grabbed it with my fingers instead of letting it fall, so that wasn't fun. Thankfully it didn't leave any permanent damage!
The bow came from michaels dollar fifty area (from awhile ago) and the pens came from target. The teal one was from the dollar spot trio set (all different colors) that is currently out and the green one is a Yoobi pen, which also came in a set of three, although they were all the same color. I absolutely love the Yoobi pens. I bought two types and these were my favorite. They're very smooth and write amazingly. They can smear so you have to let them dry just a bit but I still love them. Still haven't figured out what to do with this little booklet I made either. I added a sticker from my
freckled fawn package I got along with some washi tape but that's as far as I've gotten so far. :/

This weekend and week has been pretty busy so far. I've been listing, planning, organizing and buying way too much stuff. :P Here they are in no particular order.
Challenge # 25:
I had a hard time with this list. I had it in my head this list was for random acts of kindness I do personally, but it doesn't say that it has to be so now I feel like my list is stupid. Lol.
Challenge # 28: This list came out a bit silly. Which makes it one of my favorites. Lol. I especially love that I had a place to add in my distinguished gentleman stamp. I've been waiting to use it for something fun.
Challenge #27:
In case you can't read them, some of my favorite non planner IG accounts are:
damaskloveraemissigmanchristytomlinsonalisaburkeandibutleranetteheibergbetterthanbunniesbritsketchcisforfrenchfry
Challenege 19: This is an ongoing list and by no means all of my favorite books, just the ones that have stuck with me the most and inspired me most. This week feels like a blue/teal, green, pink kind of week. I just hope that fox doesn't catch up to that little owl before the week is up. ;)
Spent Saturday night making some fun little books. Sort of like midori booklets I guess? Haven't decided what to do with them all yet but I do believe I will use this one for another list challenge. I added some tabs to make it even more fun. ;) Got my second pocket letter from another lovely lady. She even included some chocolate and tea! I've already added the washi tape and a paper clip to my planner. Absolutely Love it!
I really shouldn't be allowed in stores with any sort of art supplies.

I don't think I've mentioned it but a few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and start doing Pocketpal letters. If you haven't heard of this, you basically just take a baseball card protector sleeve sheet (that has nine pockets) and fill it with random bits of scrapbook supplies, planner supplies, homemade things, tea, whatever will fit really that you might want to share with someone and then send it off to a penpal or friend in the mail. The idea is really genius since they fold over perfectly and fit most large enevelopes so obviously I fell in love with this idea and have sent out three (about to be four) letters so far. Today I got my first one from a lovely lady whose blog is
At the End of the Day. It came with all sorts of little beach / coastal things that I can't wait to sit down and play with!
I haven't shared any pictures of mine yet, as I didn't want to ruin any surprises for the ladies I sent them to, but as soon as they all receive them I will try to add those pictures as well.

I'm a bit late to the challenge, but a lovely lady whose user name is
TheResetGirl has started a challenge this month for people who like to list things (I think she has a new one ever month?). This one is called #listersgottalist and she has it set up so that all you have to do is
go to the website and the information is all right there, ready to download and print or write out or whatever. For some reason I had a hard time opening the Challenge sheet, but the headers worked great so I opened them and printed them out on some avery labels as instructed and just started putting them into one of my homemade gelliprint booklets in whatever way I wanted. The lists were added in at random and not in the daily order she has, but I think I may go back and add the appropriate date number to each one. I haven't decided yet.
I've almost got all of my lists completed and since I've started so late, I've had to do several at a time to get caught up before the month ends, but I think it's turned out really well. It really feels good to have actually finished a whole little booklet like this. I also feel like it's helping me with my general layouts and keeping more inspired so that I'm actually using my brain to do things and not relying on references or getting sucked into Pinterest to try to find ideas. In a recent post I had shared another gelliprint journal that I had started but it doesn't have any sort of rhyme or reason or theme, so it's just currently waiting for me to keep adding more in. I need to figure out what I want to do with it so that I might actually finish it like this one. LoL!

I made some more gelliprints as I used all mine for other projects and decided I wanted one as divider. (The square sheet protector is from a Heidi Swapp memory planner kit I had.) Still working on getting my planner into some working order. I found some calendar/weekly inserts this weekend (that I hate) but they don't even start until July so I have to figure out what I want to do until then. The monthly inserts from cocoa daisy look awesome but I'm hesitant to rush into getting them just yet, in case I won't like them either. I can't seem to find a good layout I really like. And I haven't had much luck with printing my own out. :/ No matter what I do they look hideous so I definitely want to buy any I get. Guess I'll keep looking and trying to manage until I find some or until July gets here. Lol.
Just making a mess, as usual.Forgot I had this little stamp in my stash. It came in a sushi roll crayola stationary kit I found at Big Lots some time ago. I thought it was adorable. It comes with chopstick like pens and a little notepad and sticky notes (the sushi roll one it's sitting on) in a little bento like lunch box. The bottom of this little guy has three stars on it, that you may be able to see in the corner there.
I placed a small order online Friday for a few things on Oh Deer Me via www.freckledfawn.com and they arrived Monday! I'm amazed at how quick they were! And how cute everything is. I love it! Will definitely be ordering from them again. Can't wait to start using everything!
I have enough daily memory keepers, but I really liked this book I made from some gelliprints. So I decided I want to use it as a inspiration / memory keeper type of book instead. Sort of like the midori? I often end up leaving these books half unfinished (I have several sitting around in my studio). But I am determined to finish this one. We'll see how it goes I guess.

A couple of years ago I created this to try to do an art collaboration with another artist. Things fell through and we didn't get to do one together, sadly. I've always wanted to do a collab for some reason but have not yet found anyone who has had the time or inspiration to want to try their hand at one with me. I'm going to pretend they're too in awe of my awesomeness. That sounds about right...right?? I started thinking about it and decided I wanted to try to do one anyway, but that I would try it a little differently by adding it here and letting those that want to collab this with me have a try at it. I thought it might be more fun that way then what I had originally planned anyway. :D
If you want to do this as a collab, right click on the image above and select "view image". Once the image is full size in your screen, right click again and select "Save image as" and save it to your computer. Once saved, print it off or open it in your art program (or however else you plan to collab this picture with me) and get to work! :D You can paint on it, draw on it, or whatever, it's up to you, it just has to be something creative. Once completed, scan, upload or snap a picture of it and feel free to share it on your page, or wherever, using the hashtag:
#letscollabthisthing. Just be sure to include somewhere that the piece is an art collaboration with me, Mindy Lou Hagan. (You can add your name in the lined blank at the bottom next to my name.)
I would love it if you guys shared this with me. You can comment here or
send it in an email or post a link to
my facebook or
deviantart page or wherever. I would love to see what you come up with! I'll definitely do a shout out post as well and share as many images as I can across my media pages. So let's get to work and collab this thing! :D
(If this one goes well, I will try to do some more in various types of my styles so we can collab together again! :D)
