Latin America Bureau
About LAB The Latin America Bureau (LAB) is an independent research and publishing organisation. It works to broaden public understanding of issues of human rights and social and economic justice in Latin America and the Caribbean. What is LAB? LAB works to educate on issues of social justice, human rights and economic and political development in Latin America and the Caribbean. In particular we work to further popular initiatives from the region and include an integrated gender perspective. LAB has a unique role in producing books which cover the entire region of Latin America and the Caribbean for a non-specialist public, as well as country and topic-specific publications. LAB has been publishing original and accessible books for more than 20 years, and we continue to be a point of reference for all those interested in development issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Publishing LAB publishes approximately 10 books per year, and we have a back-list of more than 50 titles, which you can see in more detail in our New Books section. LAB books are original and researched in the region. We provide a worldwide audience for the concerns of people in Latin America working for social justice and human rights, as well as highlighting the cultural diversity of the region. More information about our co-publishers around the world and notes for prospective authors can be found in our Publishing section. Education LAB recently carried out a large education programme which is covered in-depth in the Education section.
