L. K. Sheets is a published illustrator working in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Linda has worked as the graphic designer and marketing coordinator for Manheim Fort Wayne since 1999. She worked as a freelance graphic designer/illustrator in Fort Wayne, IN from 1984 until 1999 when she went to work full-time for Manheim Fort Wayne (then Fort Wayne Vehicle Auction and now Fort Wayne Auto Truck Auction. In 2012 Linda returned to freelance design and is currently designing under the name of Broadway Park Design. Broadway Park is the name of the 1868 historic home the Sheets own and where the studio is located.
Darlene Yarnell and Linda produced 6 cling vinyl book sets for Make Pretend, Inc. - Did You Ever, Dan the Dog, Fall, Imagination, Gymnastics & Snow. It is believed that only Dan the Dog, Fall and Snow were actually published. They were very costly to produce so Make Pretend decided to forgo production of the other books. It is believed only 1,000 of each were produced.
Linda also illustrated the Foellinger Freimann Botanical Conservatory Guidebook which won a Bronze Quill Award; and was selected as the Limited Edition, Bronze Portugal Christmas Plate artist for Duralyte in 1999. She has also won several animal feed bag design awards for Central Soya, an illustrators challenge from Draw Magazine, an Addy as well as other area watercolor and pen & ink awards.
Linda has worked as Art Director for Fort Wayne Magazine and Custom Marketing as well as a designer for Fitzgerald Advertising. She is a Past president of Art Directors Club of Fort Wayne, Chaired 3 Fort Wayne Creates Poster competitions and helped with local Scholastic Art Awards judging. She is also the official portrait artist for the IEEE/EIC (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) Golden Omega Awards and has produced over 40 pencil portraits of renowned pioneers of science and industry, such as Hyman Rickover, Edward Land, Maxim Faget and many others.
For 15 years Linda produced canine artwork and helped with product development for Custom Marketing, Inc and is perhaps best known for the over 140 technical pen head studies of AKC dog breeds, cats, horses and wildlife, which were reproduced on numerous kinds of stationery and household decorative items.
Linda married Ron Sheets in 1970. They are both from Richmond, IN, but eloped and married in Greenville, S.C. Linda was born in Rushville, IN but the family moved to Richmond when she was three years old. Linda's father Robert Sizemore and her mother Jeanne (McGinnis) Sizemore are both deceased. Linda has one brother David Sizemore, a musician living in Richmond, IN.
Linda and Ron have one son, John Sheets, born in 1981; and three grandchildren - grandson Jordan, born in February of 2000, granddaughter Taylor, born in October of 2001 and granddaughter Mya, born in December of 2012.
