Jeanne Frois is a published author of children's books and young adult books. Published credits of Jeanne Frois include Flags of Louisiana and Louisianians All. She is the co-editor of three editions of the Louisiana Almanac for Pelican Publishing Company. Her work has appeared in Southern Living Magazine, Old House Journal, the New Orleans Times Picayune Newspaper, Gambit Weekly, New Orleans Magazine, and Angels on Earth Magazine. Since 2002, Frois has written the Around Louisiana section of Louisiana Life Magazine wherein five geographical regions of Louisiana, Greater New Orleans, Plantation Country, Cajun Country, Central Louisiana and Northern Louisiana are featured. Her subtopics for each region includes Quirky Places, Cause to Celebrate, Fork in the Road, News Brief and Worth Watching. Her section has been voter Reader's Favorite in polls conducted by Renaissance Publishing.

In 2002, Frois wrote an article about the decaying frescoes that depict the story of Louisiana in New Orleans' Union Passenger Terminal. Painted by Conrad Albrizio in the 1950's, who used the same techniques as Michelangelo when he painted the Sistine Chapel, the rare frescoes were falling into serious decay and ruin. After Frois' article appeared in the Times Picayune, a grass roots effort began to save the frescoes. They were fully restored just before Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans on August 29, 2005 and were not damaged by the storm.

The writing style of Frois ranges from humorous to inspirational to adventurous. Never boring, always informative and enjoyable, she has nevertheless championed many underdogs by her choices of stories. I consider her a gem of a writer and have enjoyed both her books, Louisianians All and the lyrical historical painting-like quality of Flags of Louisiana. To read Frois is to indulge in a feast of words, images and learning. High marks.
