I’ve been an artist all my life—third generation professional and legacy graduate of Parsons School of Design, in NYC, with a major in graphics and illustration. I sold my first painting at age 15, and never looked back. Over the years, I’ve been on staff, free-lanced, had one-man-shows and been in group shows (w/c), designed (and painted) theater sets, did magazine and kid’s book illustration (THE BEAUTIFUL DUCKLING is still available), designed book covers, took on calligraphy commissions, watercolor commissions, and portrait commissions.I've worked for Asmara, Inc., a high-end carpet manufacturer in Boston since 1993. I’m the art director, and my staff of one is: me! No computer graphics ever....but I've got to learn! I work with W&N Designer’s Gouache on illustration board, and use teeny, tiny brushes. I was born and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, 25 minutes by train to mid-town Manhattan. Went to school, worked, and lived in NYC (had a 4 room apartment on the east side for $175 a month---waaaay long ago), and lived 25 years on the Jersey Shore before moving to Cape Cod in 2001—my heart’s desire and a place of deep roots. I’ve been a widow for 20 years, have a terrific 29 year old son, Andrew, and a friendly, polite, perfect-New England-type-ginger-cat named Sam. Thanks for reading.
