curbj402 said: A child contemplates his weird parents’ behaviors and is satisfied with his conclusion about them. The story tells about how embarrassing parents can be, but also about how caring they are and how much they love their son. It is told by a narrator in omniscient point of view. The theme is heartwarming and endearing letting kids know they can love and accept their parents, just like parents love and accept their kids (no matter how much they resist). Commentary on Art: The pictures are bright and colorful, everyone has rosy cheeks, and little details like the dog singing along with the parents create a warm, loving atmosphere. Sometimes there are details added in the negative space, and sometimes there is just white in the negative space. It just depended on what the corresponding text was trying to portray. The facial expressions are very vivid, and really speak for themselves.
