Bowman-Smith's spritely, engaging watercolor illustrations grab you and pull you in. The story really expresses the genuine love of family, and I was especially fond of the picture of Feliciana and her Grandpa when he "jellied her toast all the way to the edge of the bread". It's an exciting, funny, sweet and celebratory story about a strong, MOSTLY brave little girl and a family who really loves each other. This book has my highest recommendation. It is flawless.
