NOTEtoSELF said: Dear Elizabeth, I would like to thank you for sharing your very personal journey with us readers. I found the book to be an incredible reflection of my own life in so many ways... (although I have never been married, and I have never travelled to any of these countries). I have, however, experienced a 10day silent meditation retreat at a Vipassana meditation center here in Ontario and I have to say it was the greatest gift I could have given myself. I experienced it in the month prior to my mother's passing, and the inner peace that I found there helped me to have the courage, grace and strength to endure perhaps the greatest loss of my life. Even though nothing is ever lost and I know she is always with me, nevertheless my 3rd dimensional self has trouble with it... :) It is still a gaping hole that I can never hope to fill completely. Your book made me laugh out loud and cry hot tears of compassion, love, understanding, pain, remembrance, connection and gratitude with each and every chapter. I was amazed at how much I identified with your journey, even though our experiences were so different. I have to say I did not read it all at one sitting. I could not handle that. I found myself reading one or two chapters at a time, over a six month period. There was so much going on in my life that I often had days go by when I couldn't open the book. But each time I did, it was like coming home. I easily remembered where you were in your journey, what was going on for you there and I looked forward to the next time I'd be listening to your "voice". When I recently finished the book, I decided I would look for a way to somehow contact you and let you know how meaningful your book was to me and to thank you for your vulnerability, authenticity and openness in how you shared your story. I am not certain if this was actually what was going on for you as you chronicled your travels, but it certainly seem to be. In either case, you are an incredible writer and I appreciated your sincerity and ability to speak from the heart. You definitely touched my life and all of my friends who have read your book as well.
