The illustrations are nice. I would suggest this book to an elementary age child who has interest in this subject or nature. It might be a good choice for book-talking non-fiction with 3rd grade and up. Lexile is around grades 5-6. Younger kids with advanced reading skills would be ok with this book choice. tags: I read
