As a landscape designer and garden writer, I see niches where information is lacking and focus on filling that gap with beautiful, instructional books. After writing garden and feature pieces for magazines for 15 years, my passions collided in 2009 with the release of my 1st children's book - Our SHADOW GARDEN - published by Bright Sky Press. Featuring artwork by kids in treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center (www.childrensart.org) and educational sidebars, proceeds from the sale of this book go back into programs for the patients and their families. OUR SHADOW GARDEN is winner of the "Growing Good Kids: Excellence in Literature award from the American Horticulture Society and Jr. Master Gardeners as well as the Southern Writers' Literary Award.

HEIRLOOM BULBS FOR TODAY (Bright Sky Press, 2010) follows the adventures of "The Bulb Hunter" Chris Wiesinger and Fischer the Bulb Dog as they rescue old-fashioned flowering bulbs, restoring a dying remnant of America's past. Readers learn how to grow and enjoy some of Chris' favorites then can map out their own hunt across the country by visiting the historic sites profiled in the book. Also included: botanical art, photos and how-to's from husband and wife team Johan Kritzinger and Loela Barry, sample garden plans and creative ways to use these beauties in your home or office.
