I've written a series of 3 children books about Emily, the Chickadee, a little bird who made her nest in the most unusual places like my flowerpots, flower box, and even the wreath on my front door...twice! These books are all inspired by my own experience and are true stories. I've written them in easy-reading rhyme, something that seems to have become lost in recent years compared to the days when nursery rhymes were the norm for childrens books. (I hope to change that!) I hope to bring an early appreciation of nature and one of its tiniest creatures to children everywhere and want to show them that it can be found as close as our own backyards. I named the chickadee Emily and feel that I was "chosen" to tell her story, instead of the other way around! I'm a lover of nature and all animals. I live in Oregon with my husband and 4 little dogs, where I am surrounded by nature and its creatures and can appreciate them on a daily basis.
