Leah is on a slippery path to self-destruction. Why shouldn't she be? Both her parents are dead and she's stuck in New York with an aunt who's more interested in screwing her boss. Mind numbing drugs are her only escape from reality.

That is, until Leah's aunt excitedly informs her she is sending her to England for a nanny position. Welcoming the opportunity and promising her younger brother she will return, she embarks on her new adventure.

However, when she arrives at the enormous mansion in the heart of the beautiful English countryside, she soon learns no nanny position ever existed. She is informed no one ever leaves the mansion, and it is expected that her and one of the sons will become an `item'.

Leah finds the intimidating proprietor, Lady Margaret, means what she says and she makes some gruesome discoveries to prove it. Surreptitiously falling in love with Riley, the gorgeous Irish farm boy, the two learn about each other's hugely different way of life. Leah comes to the stunning realization that she is also falling in love with the mansion and the uninfluenced, unspoiled way of life.

When Riley's sister becomes desperately ill they manage to plot their escape, but Lady Margaret is always one step ahead.

Will Leah be able break through to her misanthropic captor and return to her brother in New York? And if she does, will she let society in to invade the private world she has come to love?
