Luci Seymour - sexy & free spirited - returns to steamy New Orleans in search of the father she's never met. She finds murder, mayhem, love and adventure when her timing puts her directly in the sights of an elderly hit couple and a con man's last scam.
Lucis family rules:
1. Never fall in love.
2. Never marry.
3. Sanity is optional.
4. So is the truth.
Lucis lived by the rules until she finds out just how far from the truth her mother has strayed.
Now its time to break some rules.
She didnt know how many secrets her family had tried to bury.
She didnt count on someone trying to bury her.
And then there is that high maintenance homicide detective making her take a hard look at rule number one....
NOPD Detective Mickey Ross always has a plan. Its how he rolls. Its how hed kept his life as easy as his city.
If his uncle hadnt decided to get married. If he hadnt met Luci....
Hes either going to fall in love with her. Or kill her.
Not a surprise someone else is gunning for her.
The rising body count? Not a big surprise either. This is New Orleans.
But those Seymour rules...
Hes always had a problem with rules...
Praise for Do Wah Diddy Die:
"When it comes to creating stories with offbeat humor and outrageous situations, Pauline Baird Jones is in a class by herself. A most excellent experience!" Romantic Times
"Once again, Pauline Jones has managed to write a book that rivals anything other comedy writers have put out there for the discerning reader. Ms. Jones' tongue-in-cheek writing style will appeal to anybody, with or without a sense of humor. I spent half my time roaring with laughter and the other half enthralled with the mystery of 'whodunit'. This book is a must read of the highest caliber for anyone who just loves a great book, a good laugh and a fantastic story." Ariana Overton for Midnight Scribe, Murder List, WordWeaving, Tracy's Book Reviews, ebookconnections.com and Sharpwriter
"I could hardly bear to put this book down for anything. I kept wading through dead bodies to discover the tie in and get this mystery all figured out. I look forward to more hilarious reading from Pauline Baird Jones." Five thumbs up from Kathy Boswell, Kathy's Faves and Raves
The body count isnt a surprise either. See above.

New Orleans sometimes seems like it was created to spawn stories of quirky, eccentric people. Its also a great place for (fictional) murder, lots of mayhem, humor, and, of course, romance. I always have to have a romance.
When I finished Do Wah Diddy Die, I didnt know that Luci and Mickeys adventures were going to continue in two short stories published in my Mystery Collection: Do Wah Diddy Dead and Do Wah Diddy Die Already. I also chose New Orleans and Louisiana for my gothic mystery-suspense novel, A Dangerous Dance, which should re-release in the fall of 2013.
For a long time, after Katrina devastated the "city that care forgot," I couldnt write about New Orleans. But it is a resilient city. Its making a comeback, so how could I not do the same when I I decided to return to romantic suspense? Relatively Risky: The Big Uneasy 1, introduces the law-abiding Baker family and their adventures in crime solving in the sultry-and often crazy-streets of New Orleans.
My other romantic suspense titles (not set in New Orleans) include The Spy Who Kissed Me and my Lonesome Lawmen books: The Last Enemy, Byte Me, Missing You, and Lonesome Mama (a bonus short story).
And if you have a taste for adventure mixed with humor and romance in your reading, I have also penned a science fiction romance series called Project Enterprise.
