When Anna's parents move her from the suburbs to a country inn in Boynton Falls, Vermont, she's not sure she'll love the New England lifestyle and she's even less sure of her summer job, working as a maid at the inn. In the middle of the night, Roxy Cray walks through the door - right through it. Despite the fact that Roxy was born in 1803, Roxy and Anna become close friends, especially after Roxy shares the story of her untimely death and her experiences as a maid in the very same inn. Tony, a handsome New York photographer, checks into the inn and quickly shows interest in Anna. She begins to model for him in secret, but Roxy is suspicious. When Tony brings Anna somewhere, miles away from help, will Roxy be able to save her?
