"Eighteen-year-old Bridget Hunt has never felt a strong connection with the inhabitants of Fountainhead, California. In fact, she's only close to one person in her entire school-Dana Serenity. After a bizarre meeting between Bridget and Dana's brother, Cary, it becomes apparent that an unknown and powerful force is at work. Bridget, Dana, and Carey are all plagued with an ominous feeling-and they don't have to wait long to find out why.

After surviving an unexpected and vicious attack, Bridget, Dana, and Cary hear a tale of three mystical warriors called ""Destiny's Knights."" The warriors, from the parallel world of Earth, have the ability to save the planet Marduk from its evil attackers. Several signs will reveal the students' true identities as the Knights: seeing a magical coin, surviving the attack of a Baku-one of the deadliest creatures in Marduk-and uncovering the true identities of the messenger elf and his three friends.
