From the supplier: The problem-solving skills in mathematics education can become interesting for children to learn if mathematical problems are applied to everyday life whether at school or at home. Some problems suggested are the estimation of students who ate hot lunches, the amount of coffee pots to brew for parents and the amount of money needed to pay for a field trip to the zoo. This approach can increase interest in problem-solving because the families of children become involved. While the level of difficulty of the problems should match children's abilities, they should be difficult enough to challenge their thinking.
