Through this story, he not only presented a history of train engines, but delivered a message of personalities, productivity, and persistence. Also addressed were character education and self-esteem issues. Little Shay's Lesson can be read as a bedtime story for that special child. It can be added to the early childhood libraries in churches and schools. Practice eye-hand coordination while coloring the characters. Create more actions between the characters. Think of additional activities in which Speedy, Little Shay, Brother, Sister, and Cousin can participate. The publishing of Little Shay's Lesson, is a gift of love, laughter, and life. A gift presented to the author who thought his work had been forgotten and laid by the wayside. May all who read the pages and color the scenes, laugh, and love life to the fullest. Most of all, Little Shay's Lesson is meant for enjoyment.
