When he is visited by a tall, thin, pale stranger unlike anyone he has ever seen, he is left with a gift. This gift is a highly acute sense of touch. Nick's ability to use his new touch is both a blessing and a nuisance. As he struggles for answers, his friends, teacher, and the gruff old retired priest, Professor Thomas Peach, lend a hand. Father Thomas is presented with clues pointing to an ancient society that disappeared around 850 AD. Could the tall stranger be a descendent of the ancient people?
