What's Happening? answers the question that likely runs through the mind of a four or five-year old child when confronted by an unexplained and unfamiliar intrusion from the outside world. What's Happening? likely shoots across such a young child's mind when first confronted with a loud police siren, a racing fire engine or hustling professional paramedics loading a patient into an ambulance. Teacher, Foundress of Wonderful Angels' Academy and Author, Ani-Michelle answers this question for four-and five-year olds, using the same insights and communication abilities that she has developed during her many years as a pre-school teacher. Ani-Michelle believes that many books attempting to reach this age group talk about these events without explaining what comes before and after them, in effect providing a cause-and-effect explanation. This conviction underpins her premise and she embeds it in the text of What's Happening? For example, what happened before the paramedics arrived on the scene? Why and how did they get there? What are they trying to do? What will they do after they leave the scene? And what is a paramedic anyway? Ani-Michelle asserts that four- and five year-olds can absorb - and actually welcome - this kind of information as they continue building their grasp of the world around them.
