A tomboy herself, Tanya loves her little sister, but she's tired of hearing Jenny praised for playing quietly with her dolls and staying so neat and clean. Their mother says Tanya has a green-eyed monster inside her, and Tanya wishes she did-so it could chase her little sister right out of Tanya's life. Torn between hating Jenny and hating herself for feeling that way, Tanya heads for the woods. There, she meets the remarkable Mrs. Murgatroyd and tries her magical rainbow paints.
