Caroline Meadows loves horses and saddle seat riding. At Four Seasons Stables, she helps groom and tack the horses, clean stalls and teach the beginners. In return, Miss Buckley gives Caroline lessons for free. Caroline's parents can't afford to buy their little girl a horse, but in Caroline's heart, all the horses are her very own. Even so, she has a special place in her heart for a gorgeous American Saddlebred mare named Autumn Leaves. Life at the stable is great except for one problem-Bretta Nobs. Bretta delights in taunting Caroline and pointing out that Caroline is "just a groom." Bretta is also cruel to her National Show Horse, Dazzle, and one day Caroline has had enough. That's when the real trouble begins. This horse tale reminds readers that through hard work, any dream is possible, whether you're rich, poor or somewhere in between.
