Daniel Landau is a recent graduate of a Florida medical school. Throughout his days at that institution, he had the opportunity to witness events both incredible and horrible. Some of the horrible events inspired him to write this book. While a fictional book, many of the events in it are based on Landau's personal experiences. Landau has had various short stories and poetry published in the past, but this is his first venture into a novel. While admitting this is a somewhat raw venture, the book was written with the emotions that he was facing at that time. In addition to the stresses and emotions he was facing in medical school, Landau was also dealing with the loss of a seven-year relationship. Many of those emotions poured into his writing as well. This book represents raw emotions of many people in the medical profession and many unconscious feelings of anyone that has ever suffered the loss of a long-term relationship. Many elements here are scary yet true. It is a disturbing venture into the mind of a young physician. Indeed, it is a chilling tale of one doctor's struggle to maintain his sanity.
