Quirt sets out hell bent for leather to rescue his beloved Abigail. The trail of the kidnappers leads Quirt through dozens of towns and several states, where he encounters a number of harrowing experiences. Traveling through Arizona, he learns that the kidnappers may be taking her to the gold fields of Colorado. Along the way he learns that the man he thought might have abducted Abby has been killed near the Mexican border. Now he is at a loss as to who the kidnappers are.
