Andrew's Sand Bucket, the first in a series of Andrew's adventures, has been written as a tool for parents in educating children ages 3-8 about bird families and God's care for them. Because of our hectic age, we often forget that life is an on going adventure, but children wake up every morning with the total realization that today will be a wonderful adventure. My purpose in writing Andrew's Sand Bucket is to celebrate what's special about family relationships and create adventure in discovering nature and our Creator. "I know every mountain and everthing that moves in the field is Mine," a quote from Psalm 50:11, indicates God's control of nature, and, when instilled in a child, gives to him not only pleasure, but also security. By taking an ordinary little boy and his ordinary grandpa and giving them extraordi-nary experiences in nature, I have written a series of stories that not only educate but also get children involved in their surroundings in an imaginative way.
