Updated with new audio, the revised Student Activities Manual provides oral and written activities which progress methodically from comprehension to expression. "Prononcez bien!" sections focus on a specific phonetic difficulty that students may encounter in each given chapter. The Student Activities Manual now includes a new section, "Francophones en direct", that offers recorded interviews representing a wide range of ages, ethnic and social backgrounds, and presents various perspectives on the chapters' topics. Each of the oral segments is accompanied by exercises that facilitate more systematic development of listening comprehension skills. New "Prononcez bien" voice board activities are available through iLrnTM: Heinle Learning Center. The written activities in the Student Activities Manual offer practice on every point of structure in the unit and culminate in a suggested composition that features a process-oriented writing approach and also incorporates web-based research. A realia-based writing activity completes this section. In addition, "A l'ecran!" sections provide activities based on appropriate segments of the new video program that accompanies the Eighth Edition.
