Johnny Coalboy

Book Description
Johnny Coalboy is a tale of fact and fantasy created for middle readers.

It is a story of a 12 year old boy put to work in the coal mines in the early 1900's. One of the 'town' boys, in an effort to embarrass him, dubbed him Johnny Coalboy. The long dreary days in the mines became tolerable when a canary became Johnny's companion. Trapped in a cave-in, "Goldie" also became his life-line.
