Sammy is a lovable little elephant who keeps spilling his buckets of water. As the story unfolds, Sammy, together with the reader, is re-introduced to his own inner strengths and abilities, as Mr. Camel guides him in remembering how many things he can do well. When a crisis occurs- a fire near the circus- Sammy saves the day. He emerges from his experience with a new sense of self-appreciation.
