Okay, maybe not. But with this elegantly designed, illustration-rich bevy of baseball basics, girls and boys can at least learn the ins and outs of throwing, catching, fielding, and pitching--all through elaborate photographic sequences. The short foreword by Cincinnati Reds powerhouse Eduardo Perez opens up to a brief history of baseball, then slides right into a discussion of what you'll need equipment-wise, how to warm up, the layout of a playing field, and the techniques a young ballplayer should use when the bases are loaded. Ambitious youngsters will find a brief "Taking It Further" section in the back, followed by a glossary, index, and list of useful baseball-related resources.
