This book covers all the main physical themes including weather, rivers, tectonics and ecosystems. A general study of process and landform is combined with an analysis of the way in which the physical environment both affects and is affected by human activity. Case studies from Britain and around the world are used to illustrate the key aspects. Also use of make of an OS map extract of the Eastbourne area. The series is designed for students taking GCSE geography syllabuses. It has been written with regard to all syllabuses and takes into consideration the first examination held in 1988. Student activities are fundamental both to the structure of the chapters and to the student's learning experience. There is a range of activities which introduce students to the skills of graphicacy, cartography, discussion, debate and role-play. The activites are designed to support "active" learning and are intended to appeal to a wide range of abilities.
