Packed with easy-to-use star maps, spectacular photographs several of which are included for the first time in this 3rd edition, with new images from the Hubble Space Telescope - and amazing facts and figures about the Universe and our Solar System. Arranged spread-by-spread, the atlas looks first at the features of our Solar System, with brightly coloured artwork and photographs to illustrate the planets and their moons. The constellations of both the northern and southern hemispheres are shown in star maps that make it easy for children to recognize and name the most important stars and find their way around the night sky. Other spreads describe comets and meteors, star clusters and galaxies, and pulsars and black holes. Quizz questions are also included for readers to test their knowledge.
