MoreThis is aimed at all students taking NVQ, SVQ and GNVQ related secretarial courses as well as RSA, LCCI, PEI, BTEC and SCOTVEC examinations. It is also relevant to students in Open Learning Centres, Secondary Schools, and Secretarial Training Agencies. Written as an Open Learning text, in order to allow the student to progres at their own pace, either in the classroom or at home, this is a programme which should enable students to attain audio transcription competency in approximately 10-12 hours. This carefully graded programme offered in 10 units, has been designed to ensure that students become familiar with standard audio dictation conventions; revise and apply aspects of grammatical theory which often trouble the operator in audio transcription; master words which are commonly misspelt in business documents; improve retention ability while developing continuous listening/transcription skills; become confident and competent in producing mailable printed business documents from audio dictation. The material throughout is business orientated incorporating terminology from fields such as: new technology, communication, office equipment, secretarial work and the environment. It is a flexible programme which can be used specifically by students wishing to acquire audio transcription skills; alternatively it may be integrated within any course involving document production using typewriters, word processors or computers.
