Hello!
Thanks for visiting. I knew that I wanted to be an artist/illustrator from a very young age, survived high school by practically living backstage painting theatre sets and, like many people, had a growing stack of sketches and book ideas tucked away. A brief illuminating stint in archaeology grew into a career as a visual artist known for my humorous and beautiful transformations of junk. After the birth of my children, this morphed into“recycled stuff” workshops with children in schools and museums mainly in Ottawa, Canada. Then in 2000, I produced “Sculpture Vultures: How to Make Fabulous Sculptures Out of Used Paper” (General Store Publishing) with teacher Jane Ellens, and became officially hooked on books!
In 2005, I had the great opportunity to combine my love of whimsical drawing and nature in the illustrations for “The Twelve Days of Summer” by Jan Andrews (Orca), followed by my own book,“Lady Ginny’s Tea Parties” (Orca 2007), inspired by my standard poodle and even wilder Canadian animals.
