I have been writing children's books in Japanese since the early 1990s, when I lived in Japan. I love writing in Japanese, which I find to be a very musical and expressive language. I have written 35 children's books, from picture books for the very young, through longer books for middle school students, and one collection of essays for adults. I have published four "kamishibai" or paper plays, and many songs in children's magazines. I have had the privilege of working with many wonderful Japanese artists. Some of my books are published in translation in Korean and Chinese, but not yet in English. My books may be purchased on Amazon Japan (amazon.co.jp). By typing in my name, Susan Matsui, in the search box, you will find a book with a picture of a hammer walking down the street (it's my newest book - Hammer and His Happy Tool Friends). After clicking on the hammer book picture, hover under the title, you will find my author page - click on it and all of my books will appear and can be ordered.
