My first two picture books, DEAR BABY: LETTERS FROM YOUR BIG BROTHER and ROOT BEER AND BANANA were published by Candlewick in 2005. DEAR BABY is going into its second printing in the fall of 2008. My third book, PASSING THE MUSIC DOWN, is scheduled for publication by Candlewick in the fall of 2010. It's being illustrated by Barry Root and I can't wait to see the art.My fourth book will be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. It's being illustrated by Tricia Tusa. Wow! What can I say? Life is good.Now I'm deep in revision of a middle grade novel. When I'm not writing, I love to do workshops, especially Persuasive Writing workshops with middle school students. When I do those, I have an opportunity to draw on my fourteen years of experience as a lawyer. And it's great to encourage young people to articulate their beliefs. I want to hear what they think.I've also taken up running up. I'd forgotten how much I missed it. It's how I start my day.
