KNA was established in 1991 with the idea of bringing the basic works of Carmelite spirituality to readers—in this way, after many decades, Czech readers once again had access to the works of St Teresa of Ávila, St John of the Cross and St Thérese of Lisieux. Shortly thereafter, another collection was added alongside “Carmelite Spirituality,” under the name of Spiritual Life,” as well as other books from the fields of Biblical study, liturgy and poetry. These collections have become prestigious, but other books published by KNA—on homiletics, theology, spirituality, psychology and, to a lesser extent, pastoral work.
