We publish and market children's picture books to enthrall young minds and provide an enthusiasm for learning through reading. If your work supports this mission, we would be happy to review your manuscript or artwork. We are currently accepting picture book manuscripts and illustration submissions for our 2008 list. We try to respond in a timely fashion but please allow several months for an initial review. Your help in following our guidelines will help us to respond to you in a more timely fashion. Final decisions for the 2008 list will be made in the fall of 2006. We recommend that all submissions for our 2008 list be received not later than September 15, 2006. The books that we publish are usually, but not always, fictional stories that relate to animals, nature, the environment, and science. All books should subtly convey an educational theme through a warm story that is fun to read and that will grab a child's attention. Each book has a three to five page "For Creative Minds" section in the back of the book to reinforce the educational component of the book itself. This section will have a craft and/or game as well as “fun facts” to be shared by the parent, teacher, or other adult. Authors do not need to supply this information but may be actively involved in its development if they would like. Please ensure that you have looked through our website and that you think your manuscript fits our needs. We are NOT looking for manuscripts about pets and/or new babies, We are NOT looking for local or state-specific books. We do NOT publish young adult books or novels. We are NOT looking for any more Holiday-related books. ALL books must be marketable nationally or at least in a large region (New England, Atlantic Coast, Pacific Coast, Southwest, etc.). All resulting books should correlate in some way to National Standards of early elementary school curriculums and should be marketable through niche markets such as science museum, zoo, or aquarium gift shops.
