I started writing children's books later in life. I currently have 12 out I think. I grew up traveling. My father was in the military and we moved every two years. This does not make for deep roots into the life of a community. You don't have the opportunity to create life long friends since life comes at you in smaller disjointed chunks. My grandfather had an old log cabin that five generations of my family had lived in at one point or another. So I kind of just mentally adopted it as my place. It gave me a taproot into my own life and heritage giving me a stable place in time. I guess I withdrew partially into my own thoughts. I began writing some of these down during middle school, some during high school and revisited writing again in college. The writing came and went.. It was kind of like the gypsy caravan of my family, the writing was here one day and gone the next.

My life and experience led to some life long interests in general spirituality and the concepts of character and values. These are reflected in my books for children. Boat & Wind is conversation between the boat and wind about believing in things we can not see. Just Be Yourself is rhyming book on self esteem.

I currently live in Atlanta. I have three great children. Actually they would object to being called children I guess. Two girls one in high school and the other getting ready to leave for college. I have a son who is married. He and his wife both teach. I have one very special grand daughter named Fiona!
