Hi! Mariana, that is so nice of you! Loumarin?! Wow. We drove through there so many times...I'll have to look thru my journals. I love imagining you there! I wish I could show you all my secret chanterelle discovery places. I had a magical champagne birthday picnic-treasure hunt atop the foussa ruins overlook above Rognes. I hid stuff, and made maps and passed them out. It was so fun. I also tried to write with a bag of flour on the newly rototilled fields of the farm, then hike up to the foussa to see if I could read my messages below. Flour gets totally windblown! I remember the blooming almond orchards, and the hikes up to the Chaines de Cotes -- what a view of the alps. I hope you are having a wonderful fantastic time! We had no phones, no internet, no camera, no TV for 3 years!! A book at Aix Paradox shop was ecstacy. It is so amazing to remember that! Now we live right downtown San Diego! Total opposite! Both are wonderful. Bon appetite!!! Thank you so much for the comment. I love your illustrations - they always inspire me. But in funny ways... like playing with lemons:

Thank you for your kind note in your hectic time of adjustment in Aix. Now whenever I see your beautiful art or blog, I remember France & the Cours Mirabeau all lit up on Christmas Eve. It was breathtaking. I remember the art store in Aix. And the English bookstore. Have you been to Aldi? (A great place to stock up on foods/wine). We were in let petit village of Rognes, near Lambesc, NW 21 km of Aix. If you get a chance later, go to the island of Corsica and Bonifacio. We were lucky and had our camper with us for the 3 years we stayed. I can still taste and smell everything so vividly. It was such a fun adventure. But give yourself plenty of time to adjust. It's crazy stressful cause of the language and differences. Gosh if I was there, I'd draw doors and windows, and flower boxes and views from atop. and.... peut etre:

I lived/camped in Provence (Aix en Provence, Rognes) for 3 years and wandered much of Europe. Loved your pics. (I remember Rousillion). SO curious where some of those other pics were in your blog! I bet when all the dust settles it will be an incredible experience visually for stuff to draw. The huuuuugest best wishes to you! (Pretend I'm an elephant) and BON VOYAGE!
