Joni J. Downey is a published author of children's books. A published credit of Joni J. Downey is Will You Be My Friend: --We Really Are No Different. This was my first published book. Then, in 2005 while I was a teaching Assistant, I piloted the Characters of Character. They earned a National Promising Practice Award, I took a leave of absence and formed a not for profit and have written 25 books since then. Meet Behavior Bear, Do'er Duck, Friendship Frog, Healthy Hippo, Manners Monkey, Respectful Rabbit, Responsible Rabbit, Self-Esteem Elephant and Warm-Hearted Walrus. I've been married for over 35 years, 3 grown children and my family support this mission I'm on with all their hearts. I have been a volunteer in the schools, a teaching assistant, a member of the Reading Team and taught preschool. I love helping children learn who they are, what they can do and how they can be of good character.
