Ev Stanton (aka. Evé Aguirre and J.H. Everett) MEDIA ARTIST & DESIGNER - is an art-technologist, writer and illustrator, family media specialist and long-time theater bug (starting at 7 years old). He has over 25 years experience in professional theater performing, directing and musically directing shows ranging from Nunsense, The Fantasticks and They’re Playing our Song to Into the Woods, Little Shop of Horrors, and Tommy. He has also written and staged several original children’s musicals.

Ev holds a Ph.D in History from the University of California, Irvine where he won several awards for teaching and mentoring. He recently stepped down as lead partner at EverWitt Media Productions, LLC, a boutique media studio, where he was responsible for the development of several children’s properties, including: My Dad’s Garage, Gizby’s Garage, and The Fumppits. During his time at EverWitt, Ev worked on everything from packaging and presenting pitches, grant writing, story writing, and show running, to media editing, SFX, and animation, puppet creation and performance. As part of the EverWitt management team, he was responsible for ad campaigns, sales pitches, and show presentations in Washington DC, New York, Maryland, Atlanta, and Los Angeles to companies like PBS, Discovery Channel, IWF and several major publishing groups.

Ev is currently co-creating a middle-grade nonfiction series, Haunted Histories: Creepy Castles, Dark Dungeons, and Powerful Palaces vol.2, (Henry Holt Publishing, MacMillan Press, Inc. ), his sixth published children’s book. In addition to his current book projects, Ev has worked as a freelance concept illustrator for the Jim Henson Company (Sid the Science Kid and Hattie Hagby) and has created concept covers for Scholastic Books. He was primarily trained in art by Disney Artist, Roger Armstrong and his mentor of the last 7 years, Hanna Barbera managing designer, Bob Singer. Ev was a regularly contributing illustrator for the Los Angeles Times, “Kid's Reading Corner.” His first picture book, Izzy and The Candy Palace, was published by the MMJ Foundation Press and Second Harvest Food Bank. As artist ambassador to the Candy Palace and Second Harvest Food Bank, Ev helped to create a highly successful art gallery show and series of speaking engagements at the Thatcher Gallery, San Francisco, in conjunction with LitQuake SF and the Charles Schulz Museum. He continues to speak and teach, as well as to design and create artwork for theater, publishing, museum gallery shows, and multi-media projects. He is father to two sons, Caddy and Liam, and husband to Dr. Becky Stanton, Prof. Education, Concordia University.
