I was born and raised in southern West Virginia in McDowell County – home of the Rocket Boys. In 1979, I married her best friend and high school sweetheart, Robin. Shortly afterward, we moved to Knoxville in the Tennessee Valley.For a little more than two decades, I have been blessed to be a stay-at-home mom to her three children and for the last 17 years as a home school mom. We have successfully graduated our two oldest children, Brittany and Nicole. Austin is expected to graduate our family home school in 2012.I have enjoyed writing since attending junior high school and although, I loved writing descriptive letters to family and friends regularly, I did not imagine it developing into something more. After our first daughter was born, I was inspired to write a story for our little princess. The desire to paint images with words across a blank sheet became infectious and soon I had written several children’s stories. The demands of a growing family and the priorities of home schooling eventually gingerly nugged my aspirations to the briefly.Last fall, I blew the dust off some of my early works in pursuit of writing for children. Some of my inspiration came from my husband's grandma, who shared many true tales from her life and in my recently released book, The Tale of Ole Green Eyes, one of her stories is retold.I'm working on another book with the same characters from The Tale of Ole Green Eyes and plan to create an early reader children's series for my young audience.
