I work part-time as an information officer and write whenever I get the chance. My first book 'The Wrath of Voodoo' was published in 2004 but I've since then turned to writing children's books. I did a creative writing course at The Killaloe Hedge School of Writing and previous to that graduated with a university degree in languages, history and sociology, following on with a diploma in freelance journalism.
I love writing with a passion, when writing for children I can be a different person, escape to a new and magical world and stretch my imagination to infinity! I even watch children's movies, in particular; Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny and many Walt Disney films, my favourite being 'Beauty and the Beast.'
When not writing I manage my own farm, my husband and I have lots of animals that keep us busy; dogs, cats, chickens, geese, horses etc. I love animals and get a lot of my inspiration for writing from them. I also love reading, horse riding, the movies, travelling and the occasional dance or two!
