I am mainly an editor & translator of children's books in Israel. Lately I have translated "Return to the 100 acre Wood" to Hebrew - a new sequel to Milne's "Winnie the Pooh" (published in Israel, Yediot Books, October 2009).
My late father, Uriel Ofek, was a well-known writer of numerous children books, as well as a translator, editor & researcher of Kid-Lit - who wrote the very first international lexicone of Children Book Writers in Israel. My mother, Bina Ofek, has also written, translated & edited quite a few children books. The creative urge to write must have stopped there, becuse the next generations have been focusing mainly on editing & translating: My younger sister, myself and my elder daughter follow their footsteps in that aspect only. Actually, I've also illustrated about 5-6 books when I was 20-25, but then decided to leave that field to artists better gifted than I, and concentrate in what I'm really good at - words... :-) (to be continued...)
