Alexandra Hanson-Harding has been working in the children’s publishing field for nearly 20 years—as editor-in-chief for the Children’s Express News Service, Editor of Scholastic News (grades 4-6), Senior Editor at Junior Scholastic (grades 5-8), and Senior Editor at MacMillan/McGraw-Hill (grade 5, social studies). Now she is a full-time free-lancer, writing books and other educational materials for students and teachers. She loves writing nonfiction for kids because she's had the chance to learn about everything from samurai warrior culture to the cosmic microwave background.

Alexandra also loves writing fiction. She’s 95 percent of the way done with her first YA novel—letting it rest in a drawer for a few months before she looks at it again!—and halfway through her second. She lives in Rutherford, New Jersey with her husband, Brian, and two teenage boys.
