I'm a young adult author who drew upon my experiences as an English teacher to write my first book. Becoming an author wasn't intentional but I suppose it was my destiny, but it just took me a while to see it. By the way, you said you took your tests at Shaker. It's quite a place, isn't it? I teach 7th and 8th grade reading at the middle school, which is why I don't write much. But I do read! Any ideas for books that appeal to adolescent boys who are very reluctant readers?
